SKB request to add logo"SK Broadband" to cable. SKB request to the color is black I request SKB to the exact old cable specificaiton |
Because our vendor needs time to prepare DVT cable samples, please commit cable printing by 3/5 or the DVT schedule might be delay. Thank you. |
Has SKB commented their printing on HDMI/LAN cable? |
Not yet. I asked SKB to give a datasheet of HDMI cable at daily. but SKB does not. |
SKB answer to me : there is no specification of SK Broadband logo in HDMI cable FXN choose the logo location and size in HDMI Cable I attached the file of guide. see this file and and refer to make HDMI cable Lan cable does not apply this SK Broadband logo and SKB request to head of HDMI cable, see this attatched file. |
Hi SB, I attached the printing of HDMI cable for your confirmation. Please help to confirm it with SKB by 3/14. For the plug modification, it will impact some issues (cost up, exclusive material, lead time, schedule). As our point of view, we don't suggest to modify it since the project schedule is very tight. |
Hi Sheila. I share the SKB's answer 1. Do not modify HEAD of HDMI cable. Maintain FXN's style 2. Add the logo "SK Broadband". the attached file is OK. |
Hi SB, Got it. Thank you. We'll start the material preparation. |
Hi Sheila I have a question of Lan cable. SKB want to know about lan cable’s wire 1. Your Lan cable’s type is several wires in cover or just one wire in cover? (see attached the picture) 2. could you let us know that which type of cables are more safe from cutting wire 3. If your cable type is several wires in cover, can you change the one wire in cover? |
1. We use AWG 24 solid conductor (means one wire) on Eagle cable. 2. Solid wire or Stranded wire doesn't relate to safety. It relates to signal attenuation. Normally, LAN cable will use solid wire because it's enough to use. |
Hi Sheila I have a question. 2~3 weeks ago, Philip gave me a FXN’s lan cable for Eagle’s accessory. I am checking the wire type of this lan cable today But it is stranded type. (see attached the picture) I hope this cable is not final version. And SKB request to use solid type(one wire) the wire of LAN calbe |
Hi SB, Our vendor is planning to provide the stranded type for Eagle. I summarized their comments as below: 1. Normally, they provide stranded wire for the common consumer product, such as OTT product, and solid wire for the cabling installation, such as 100m ethernet cable with no RJ45 connectors. 2. For the short distance, our vendor recommends stranded wire because this type is more flexible for bending and longer compared to solid wire. 3. The performance of the current LAN cable already met what SKB required. (I attached their performance report for your reference). 4. Damage to the stranded wire, such as scratching or nicking, will be less serious than similar damage to the solid wire. 5. As our vendor point of view, it's not necessary to use solid wire when the usage scenario is with consumer product because the solid wire is more expensive and not flexible. We'll use stranded wire as our planning for DVT samples because SKB didn't require any wire type in their RFP. However, please let me know if you have any questions on this matter. ps. Our vendor provided their specification with a make error "solid conductor". They've corrected their specification and I also attached it for your reference. |
Hi Sheila thank you for your detail explaination. but SKB requets to LAN cable wire type must solid type. you are also right that there is no requirment of wire type in their RFP. But we should prepare to the solution of solid wire for our customer SKB. |
Hi SB, As my point of view, because both solid and stranded wire has different disadvantages, we shall explain to SKB in detail to make sure they understand all of the risks to prevent any market claiming. If they still insist on the solid wire as their LAN cable conductor, I will require our vendor to change it from MP. * I'll need your formal email with SKB's comment to proceed with spec change. (The email in Korean is fine) |
Hi Sheila I discussed Lan cable wire with SKB. they still request to solid wire of Lan cable. that is a must item. and SKB accept that DVT is stranded type. but the solid type cable should be applied at MP. |
Hi Sheila SKB manager called me and talked about Lan cable. He said : If the solid type is more expensive than stranded type, he reconsider that EAGLE's Lan cable wire is stranded type Could you please give the price information of solid and stranded type? If I receive the price information, I negociate with SKB again. |
Hi Sheila I discussed SKB manager to Lan cable wire type. I opened him to price gap between solid and stranded type. and I re explained Your Vender's comment. The conclusion is : SKB still request to solid type wire of LAN Cable. If the solid type is impossibe to add accessory at DVT, You can add solid type at MP. Sheila, is it possible? |
Hi SB, if SKB agrees to cost up, FXN has no concerns on specification change to solid type from MP. Please let us know whether they agree to cost up USD$0.08. Thank you. |
Hi SB, could you update the progress? Thank you. |
Hi Mr. Yoon and SB, Because both of FXN and the vendor have a lot of processes that need to be done before MP, please help to decide the LAN cable specification by 4/20. Thank you. *Please be noted this issue will impact the MP schedule. |
Hi Sheila, Sean SKB request to network speed information between stranded type and solid type. If the stranded type and solid type make no great different, they choose to stranded type of lan cable. Can you provide this information? |
Hi SB, I'll ask our vendor to make samples for the testing first. The testing report format will be the same as the stranded wire that I provided on 4/8 (file name: CT8R02R-CGD04-DF_FLUKE test report.pdf). |
Hi Sheila Test report should be made english version. "CT8R02R-CGD04-DF_FLUKE test report" is chinese version. |
Hi SB, please find the attached file as stranded wire testing result. Please let me know your comments on this matter. Thank you. |
Hi Sheila. I requested to you the comparative information between solid type and stranded type. your vender's report "CT8R02R-CGD04-DF_FLUKE Test Report-2" is only stranded type test result. I cannot discuss to SKB with this document. Please give me the comparative information. |
Hi SB, I picked the worst case from the stranded wire and solid wire to help you understanding. You can check the most importances two value - NEXT and RL only. |
Hi Sheila Thank you for this document. but I don't know well about this parameter. please introduce. SKB infra team member is not engineer. So I should explain easily |
Hi Sean I check the LAN/HDMI cable. 1. Lan cable : it's wire is solid type 2. HDMI cable : SK Broadband is marked at the cable Thank you |
